Whether you’re just leaving school, already in FM and looking to upskill, or interested in moving into FM from another profession, there are a range of homegrown tertiary qualifications to choose from.
Massey University
Massey’s Diploma in Facilities Management (DipFM) is aimed primarily at school leavers and junior-level FM professionals looking to underpin their practice with a foundational knowledge of a rapidly growing sector.
Their Graduate Diploma in Facilities Management (GradDipFM) is designed to provide an educational route for facilities management professionals to progress into more senior leadership roles.
Both programmes comprise eight 15 credit courses that can be completed in one year of full-time study, or part-time, via on-campus or distance learning.
Note: There is also an option to exit at Certificate/Graduate Certificate level on completion of four papers.
FM Papers Within Other Degrees
A number of degrees in property, engineering, building science and similar offer papers in facilities management. For example, Lincoln University offers these second-year and third-year FM papers, and Victoria University offers this FM paper.
Type ‘facilities management’ into the search engine on a university’s website to discover what FM papers they offer, or better still contact them directly and ask.
